Our History
Rooted in Tradition. Focused on the Future.
Lakes Area Shooting Sports, originally known as the Lakeshore Conservation Club, has been part of the Nisswa community since 1954. Founded as a nonprofit organization, the club initially supported fish stocking in area lakes in partnership with the DNR, hosted winter fishing contests, offered firearms safety courses, and organized trap shoots and other fundraising events to promote outdoor sportsmanship.
Over the decades, the club evolved to focus more deeply on shooting sports while continuing its community-minded mission. Today, Lakes Area Shooting Sports owns 112 acres of land along County Road 77 in Nisswa, Minnesota — with modern facilities and a growing membership of more than 600 families.
Our Mission
Provide our community with a safe, friendly, and clean place to shoot.
Preserve gun rights given to us in the Constitution.
Promote shooting sports for the next generations.
Our Facilities
We proudly offer a full range of shooting facilities, including a trap range, skeet range, five stand, and rifle bays at 25, 50, and 100 yards, along with a dedicated handgun range. Beyond the shooting stations, members and guests can enjoy access to shooting supplies and gear, a snack bar stocked with candy and soda, and a covered front porch perfect for relaxing and socializing. Our facility is also available for private event rentals, and we maintain a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere where new shooters are always encouraged and supported.
