Lakes Area Shooting Sports features member-only rifle and handgun ranges, plus public trap, skeet, and 5-stand open during seasonal hours. We host local school trap teams and offer a safe, accessible environment for all shooters. See this page for range hours, safety rules, and pricing.

Round of Trap, Skeet, or 5-Stand:

  • Members – $8 | Non-members – $10 | Youth – $6
  • Member punch card for ten rounds – $75

  • Box of shotgun shells – $11 for 12ga. | $13 for 20ga.

Lakes Area Shooting Sports is available for private parties. Please contact the Range Manager for more information.

Range Safety and Use Rules

Please sign the book at the benches before you shoot!

The target ranges are strictly for sighting in rifles, and for recreational shooting.
Prior to using the target ranges, we ask that you thoroughly read and understand the range rules.
  1. Ranges are open daily from 9:00 AM to sunset.

  2. Ranges are closed during skeet hours or when posted by the Range Manager.

  3. Use of the rifle and handgun ranges is limited to members and their families. Guests and others are encouraged to purchase a membership.

  4. Lock the gate when entering or leaving the facility unless the range is staffed.

  5. All firearms must be unloaded with actions open when not in use and placed on a shooting bench or cased.

  6. No handling of firearms is allowed while people are down range.

  7. Always keep firearms pointed in a safe direction.

  8. Use only paper, cardboard, or gong targets. All other targets are prohibited.

  9. Do not shoot at wooden posts. Hang targets on the wire in front of the berm or use target stands provided.

  10. Do not shoot at or above the “SHOOT BELOW LINE” banners.

  11. No fully automatic firearms or firearms chambered in .50 BMG.

  12. No tracers, incendiary rounds, or explosive targets (e.g., Tannerite).

  13. Shotgun shooters may load only one shell at a time, except during doubles.

  14. Eye and ear protection is required at all times.

  15. Alcohol and drugs are strictly prohibited before and during use of the range.

  16. No motor vehicles are allowed down range. Vehicles may park on the road leading to the ranges, but not at the targets.

  17. Pets are not allowed on the range.

  18. No horseplay or disruptive behavior.

  19. Limit talking during shooting to maintain focus and safety.

  20. After shooting, remove all targets and clean up your area. Use trash receptacles near the clubhouse and place spent brass in the designated buckets.

 

Reminder: These ranges are maintained by and for members. Violations of these rules may result in suspension or termination of membership. Members are encouraged to respectfully ask non-members to leave the property if they are not authorized to use the facilities.

Membership Form

HOLD HARMLESS Indemnity, and Assumption of Risk Agreement

Dated: November 2013

This Hold Harmless, Indemnity, and Assumption of Risk Agreement is entered into the above date by and between Lakeshore Conservation Club, dba Lakes Area Shooting Sports, a Minnesota Non-Profit Corporation, hereinafter “club” and ____________________ hereinafter “promisor.”

Promisor for himself/herself and his/her guests desire to use the premises of club in Cass County, Minnesota, and shall hold harmless, indemnify and release club from all claims arising from and relating to promisor’s use of club’s premises.

Promisor’s use of club’s premises are strictly at promisor’s own risk and club shall all have no liability to promisor or promisor guests for any action or non-action of club except clearly intentional acts of club itself.

Promisor shall indemnify and hold harmless and indemnify club from all claims, actions, demands and judgments, including all costs and attorney’s fees incurred in defending against the same related to promisor or promisor’s guests use of club’s premises in Cass County, Minnesota.

Promisor agrees to use due and reasonable care in the use of club’s premises and promisor shall be responsible for assuring that promisor’s guest do the same.

This agreement shall encompass all of promisor’s and promisor’s guest activities upon club’s premises.
